The 11 and 12 year old boys from Westside claimed Sioux City's first Little League state title in nearly 30 years. They're moving on to the regional tournament in Indianapolis.
KTIV Sports Fource looks back at their championship moment.
Corey Dickson says," I remember as a kid, playing little league baseball and having a conversation in sixth grade what it meant to me as a kid. And now I get to pass that on and watch my boy play."
Austin Carter says, "It's been great. We get to go out, play baseball. It's every kids dream just to go out and play baseball and just have fun."
Walter Werden says, "It's probably one of the best feelings in the world. I think, I've never done it before and so I think it'll be pretty great. Just to advance on to the regional tournament to see teams from all over, that'd just be amazing."
The Central Regional Tournament begins August 2nd in Indianapolis. Westside opens August 4th against Team Nebraska. If they win the tourney, they'll play in the Little League World Series.
