LINCOLN, Neb. (KTIV) -
National Farmers' Market week starts Sunday, but Nebraska is getting an early start with the celebration.
Greg Ibach, director of the Nebraska Department of Agriculture, says Nebraska has more than 70 farmers' markets, including one in South Sioux City and more than 500 produce growers across the state. Ibach says National Farmers' Market week is a way to celebrate their hard work while enjoying some of the freshest produce available.
Special events are planned Wednesday at the farmers' market in Lincoln as an early kickoff to National Farmers' Market week.
