NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV/US92) -
With temperatures hovering around the century mark, a glass of cold lemonade sounds pretty good.
Folks in Norfolk, Nebraska enjoyed some thanks to 43 grade school students. They're taking part in "Lemonade Camp."
C-P-A firm Christensen, Brozek and Faltys hosted the one-day event that offered business basics lessons... followed by stand set-up. They held up their signs and sold cold lemonade to thirsty patrons.
Organizers say the goal is to teach these kids to be entrepreneurs. Sherry Ruden, Norfolk "So that they learn what it takes to run a business. Part of the planning, part of the selling, what it means to make change, do the actual transaction and how you deal with customers, saying please and thank you and using your manners."
Proceeds will be donated to the Norfolk Salvation Army to help with their school supply drive.
