SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KTIV) -

A South Dakota venue expected to compete with Sioux City's Tyson Events Center has a new name.

It's after the owner of a Siouxland business.

The new events center under construction in Sioux Falls will be called the Denny Sanford Premier Center.

T. Denny Sanford is the founder of First Premier Bank and Premier Bankcard, which has a call center in Dakota Dunes.

Those two companies, along with Sanford Health Center, chipped in $20.75 million to secure the naming rights for the next 25 years.

The Sioux Falls City Council must still approve the deal.
