Sioux City electric company plans a 'historic' move

Posted:
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Tec-Corp, formerly Thompson Electric and Electric Innovations, plans to renovate an old Sioux City building on 7th Street.

Built in 1936 by Standard Oil, it's served as a warehouse in recent years.

Tec-Corp's president Skip Perley says the move from the building they lease on 14th Street will make it easier for truck traffic to reach them.

He plans on preserving the historic aspects of their new facility.

The company is headquartered in Sioux City, but has employees in Omaha, Nebraska and Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

They considered moving out of state, but has applied for Iowa's Tax Withholding program to stay in Sioux City.

They plan to add about a dozen new jobs, and be moved in early next year.
