SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Sioux City Police make an arrest Friday night, with guns drawn, after two cars were involved in a high-speed chase.
At 7:50pm, authorities were alerted that a car was chasing another vehicle on the Gordon Drive Viaduct and racing toward downtown Sioux City.
Officers caught up with the two cars at 5th and Virginia Streets.
At the time, police say one of the vehicles rear-ended the other.
The driver of the first car claimed to have minor injuries from the collision.
The driver of the second, accused of hitting the first car, was arrested on charges of reckless driving and failure to maintain control
Sioux City Police Sgt. Ryan Bertrand said, "Initially, there were some allegations that there might be a knife involved. That's why when we countered the pursuing vehicle we conducted a felony stop due to the threat of a knife being involved or a weapon being involved."
The passengers in the second vehicle were released.
No weapons were found.
