Westside Little League scored runs in the first and second inning, but it wasn't enough as Team Nebraska (1-0) defeated Team Iowa (0-1) 15-2 at the Midwest Regional Tournament in Indianapolis, Ind. on Saturday.
Team Nebraska, which is based out of Kearney, Neb., scored four runs in the first, five in the second, four more in the third and added two in the fourth in the win.
Known as "Team Iowa," Westside got on the board with a fielders choice from Austin Carter, which drove in Luke Johnson to make it a 4-1 game.
Kade Bohan drove in Iowa's second run of the game with an RBI single.
The team continues tournament play Sunday against Team Kansas (0-1). Team Iowa needs to finish fourth or better in pool play, to advance to next Thursdays' semi-final.
