Man drowns after riding horse into water near Vermillion bridge

NEWCASTLE, Neb. (KTIV) -

The Dixon County sheriff says a 45-year-old Nebraska man drowned near the Newcastle-Vermillion bridge.

Authorities say Justin Lineberry, of rural Maskell was riding a horse near a sandbar and into shallow water.

The depth of the water changed rapidly, from a few inches to eight feet, according to authorities.

Authorities say Lineberry's body was recovered about 7 p.m. Sunday. His horse survived and was recovered
