SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Parents looking for another child care option this fall, might consider a Sioux City center that focuses on Native American culture and history.
The Native American Child Care Center has openings for pre-kindergarten kids starting at age three.
The center emphasizes the "Sioux Indian" culture by using games and books to teach students about the Native American Heritage.
Teachers say they have openings for children with all types of backgrounds.
"I think it's really important for self-esteem to start working on that early. The culture is part of it and also being able to do things. I think that's the experience we give them," Beach Husk, the Director of Native American Child Care Center said.
Registration goes from 5 pm to 8 pm on Monday and on Tuesday from 9 am to 4 pm.
It's at the lower level of the Grace United Methodist Church at 1735 Morningside Avenue.
