Sioux City Westside, representing Iowa at the Midwest Little League Regional, lost to Minnesota 7-2 on Monday.

The Sioux City Westside Little League evened their record at the Midwest Regionals with a 12-7 win over Kansas on Sunday. Westside, representing Iowa as the state champs, faced Minnesota, also 1-1, on Monday afternoon.
Team Iowa falls, 7-2. Minnesota broke open a close game with three runs in the fifth inning.
Westside had four hits and committed four errors. Luke Johnson, Austin Carter, Tanner Bykerk and Jameson Bull each had hits.
Team Iowa will now play Rapid City, South Dakota, at noon on Tuesday. Westside will probably have to win that game to be one of the four teams that moves into the semifinals on Thursday.
