Stanton woman sentenced for hiding Carlos Arevalo-Martinez after Norfolk shooting

A 38-year-old Stanton, Nebraska woman has been sentenced to 60 days in jail for helping a fugitive hide from authorities following a Valentine's Day shooting in Norfolk.  Connie Mandl was sentenced in Stanton County District Court Monday.   She had entered a plea to an amended charge of attempted accessory to a felony, which is a class 1 misdemeanor.

Mandl owns the home where Carlos Arevalo-Martinez hid and held police at bay following a shooting in Norfolk last February.  The shooting left Edna Gutierrez of Norfolk wounded.

Mandl has begun her sentence and remains in Jail.
