UPDATE: Vehicle found in Northeast Nebraska linked to Indiana serial killer case

Posted:
STANTON Co., Neb. (KTIV) -

Northeast Nebraska authorities have found a vehicle believed to have been used by an Indiana murder suspect.

The vehicle was found in Stanton County after a national search.

Authorities say yesterday it was checked for evidence in the cases against 54-year-old William Clyde Gibson, of New Albany, Indiana.

The Stanton County Sheriff's Office says the current owners didn't know about the vehicle's possible ties to Gibson.

The vehicle originally was stolen in 2002 from a Louisville, Kentucky, dealership and subsequently owned by several different people across the Midwest.

Investigators think Gibson used the vehicle to dispose of a body.

Officials say it'll take some time to get results from their evidence search.

Gibson's charged with murdering three women in Indiana's Floyd County, including the 2002 stabbing death of a Florida woman who was visiting the area.

Not-guilty pleas have been entered for him.
