Sioux City Fire officials will honor two Sioux City men for saving lives

A big thank you Wednesday for two Sioux City men who helped save lives. Sioux City Fire officials will present Chris Hall and Mark Stewart with the life saving award. In May, the two came to the rescue when fire broke out at the Glen Oaks Apartment complex. They grabbed a fire extinguisher to put out the flames and helped alert people inside to the danger. The presentation will be a the public museum Wednesday morning at ten.

National Night Out draws a crowd across the tri-state region

The focus was on safety Tuesday night as police met with folks across Siouxland as part of the 29th annual National Night Out. The event encourages people to come outside, lock the doors, turn on their porch lights, and meet their neighbors. Police say it's a good way to build trust between citizens and authorities. More than 33 million people were expected to take part nationwide.

Two Siouxland athletes will compete in the men's pole vault in London Wednesday

Two Siouxlanders are competing in the preliminary round of the men's pole vault competition at the London Olympics Wednesday morning. Jeremy Scott is a 1999 graduate of Norfolk High School and Derek Miles is an assistant track coach at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. You can watch the qualifying round of the pole vault on KTIV at 12:15 PM.
