Crash of pickup truck and car near Hinton, IA sends three to hospital

NEAR HINTON, Iowa (KTIV) -

The collision of a pickup truck and a car at an uncontrolled intersection east of Hinton, Iowa Tuesday evening sent three men to the hospital.

The Plymouth County Sheriff's Office says the truck, driven by 24-year-old Jacob Reinert of Le Mars, collided with the car driven by 36-year old Michael Robinson of Sioux City at the intersection of Key Avenue and 280th Street shortly after 5:30pm. After the collision, the pickup went into the ditch. The car went into a soybean field.

Both drivers were taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. A passenger in the pickup, 42-year-old Matthew Feller, was also take to Mercy by ambulance.

The Hinton Fire Department assisted at the scene. Investigation into the accident continues and future charges are expected, according to the sheriff's office.
