Sarah Te Slaa joined KTIV in May of 2012. She comes to Sioux City from Omaha where she worked as a reporter at KMTV Action 3 News. Before that, Sarah anchored the morning and noon newscasts for several years at KMEG 14 News.
While in Omaha, Sarah reported on a variety of stories including the Joplin tornado, the Millard South shooting, and the historic flooding on the Missouri River.
During her years in Sioux City, Sarah won several Associated Press awards including the 2009 Nebraska AP award for Series, the 2008 South Dakota AP award for Feature, and the 2010 Great Plains AP award for Agricultural Story.
Sarah grew up in Lakewood, CO and moved to Missouri for college. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia and holds degrees in Broadcast Journalism and French. Her love of the French language has taken her around the world studying in Europe and Africa. She spent six months immersed in the Senegalese culture and loved every minute of it.
Sarah enjoys traveling, golfing, reading, and spending time her husband, Travis, and their two Boston Terriers, Mugsy and Fergie.
