GRAND PRAIRIE, Tex. (KTIV) -- -

Bryan Frichter hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to lead the Grand Prairie AirHogs (44-33) to an 8-7 win over the Sioux City Explorers (34-43) on Wednesday at QuikTrip Park. The blast came off of X's reliever Jon Plefka, a former Texas Tech basketball player who fell to 0-3.

Sioux City led for most of the game. The X's built a 7-2 lead after six innings but gave up four in the bottom of the sixth as Grand Prairie chased X's starter Richard Salazar from the game.

Adam Miller improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win. Miller struck out one, walked one and gave up one hit while keeping the X's scoreless in the eighth.

Sioux City outfielder Yusuke Inoguchi hit his second homer of the season in the fourth inning and finished with two hits and two RBI's. Kris Sanchez and Brian Bistagne also had two hits for the X's.

The three game series will end on Thursday as the Airhogs try to complete a season sweep of Sioux City by winning all six games in 2012.
