Iowa State has sold out of student football season-tickets for the 2012 season.
AMES, Iowa (KTIV) - -
Iowa State has sold out of student football season-tickets. It's the earliest that's ever happened.
Iowa State had three of the largest crowds in school history last season. Over 56,000 attended the Texas and Iowa games, which ranks second and third all-time. Over 54,000 saw the Cyclones edge Northern Iowa last September and that ranked sixth all-time.
The Cyclones averaged a school-record 53,000 for its six home games last fall, eclipsing a 29-year-old record.
"I think as we head towards this season we're going to put our most talented football team on the field as we once again face a schedule that all, if not most, will rank as one of the top five toughest in college football," said Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads.
Season tickets are still available in the grass hillside areas for $99. Iowa State's home opener is September 1st against Tulsa at 11:00 AM on Fox Sports Net.
