UPDATE: Northwest Iowa man faces 60 additional counts of sex abuse

REMBRANDT, Iowa (KTIV) -

An ongoing investigation by the Buena Vista County Sheriff's Office has led to more charges for a Rembrandt, Iowa man.

The sheriff's office says 36-year-old Cory Wernimont faces 60 more counts of 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse. This, after an additional female minor alleged she was assaulted by Wernimont over an extended period of time.

Wernimont is currently being held in the Buena Vista County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond only.

Last week, authorities charged Wernimont with four counts of sexual abuse after receiving a complaint that a 15-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted at least four times in one night.
