Southeast South Dakota woman dies after collision with semi

A Centerville, South Dakota woman has died after a collision involving a car and semi truck.

It happened Thursday morning near Davis, South Dakota.

Authorities say 79-year-old Dorthy Larson was driving north on 466th Avenue when she stopped at the intersection of Highway 18 and began to cross the highway. She was hit by an oncoming semi pulling double tanker trailers.

Larson was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver 26-year-old Gregory Benson of Hurley South Dakota was not hurt.
