Sioux City won the 2012 APFL Championship but will leave the league.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
The Sioux City Bandits will not be defending their American Professional Football League Championship in 2013, and will join the Champions Professional Indoor Football League.
Bandits Managing partner Bob Scott confirming to KTIV Sports Fource on Saturday that the team will be a part of the CPIFL.
The league will be comprised of at least six teams, including Sioux City. The other five teams have yet to be announced.
According to the CPIFL web site, the league will include "well-established teams currently coming from Iowa, Missouri and Kansas."
Scott says an official announcement on the league and its members will come within the next week.
