Morningside College students evacuated after fire

Posted:
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Students at Morningside College's Roadman Hall dormitory were forced to evacuate their living quarters Monday morning, after an oven started smoking.

The fire department received the call around 9:15 a.m. after a student started cooking food in that oven.

The fire was out within minutes.

Fire officials say the students quickly cleared out, but the biggest challenge was going through each dorm room, and ventilating each one so that all the smoke was cleared, before the students could re-enter.
