SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Sioux City is moving forward with an agreement with the Community School district to help get a site set for a new elementary.
The school district plans to demolish Washington school next year and rebuild a larger school on the same site.
They need to partner with the city to widen several streets.
Work wasn't scheduled for several years, but the district moved the project up, and they're asking the city to do the same. Doing so, could push back other city road work.
Leaders signed a 28-E agreement Monday, indicating their willingness to discuss the project with the district.
