HOLSTEIN, IOWA (KTIV) -
Growers will be anxious to make up for this year's drought by planting a big crop next year.
However, that could come with an extra cost. Todd Vohs held a field day at Holstein Ag Services, Tuesday.
It's a chance for his customers to check out the seed he'll be selling for next year.
He's expecting a smaller yield this year, and may have less seed to sell.
And, that has the potential to drive prices up for growers next year.
"As yields drop so do the yields on the seed corn. For what it's been through, we're doing pretty good, but we're still in the area, expecting to be down," said Vohs.
Vohs says his seed comes from diverse areas of the country, and he's hoping that helps.
