SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Before school officially kicks off on Thursday, East High Adaptive Choir helped get Sioux City Community Schools teachers and support staff motivated for the new year.
More than 2,000 school employees got together to celebrate accomplishments and to look forward to the future.
School officials say they get together as a large group like this every few years and this helps them to frame their vision.
"We have so many great things that are going on not only related to the growth and student achievement and the growth in the graduation rate, but also in arts and activity programs and athletic programs. So we really wanted to take some time and really reflect on some of our accomplishments together," Dr. Paul Gausman, the Sioux City Community Schools Superintendent said.
