Head Coach Joe Glenn addresses the media during Media Day at USD.
VERMILLION, S.D. (KTIV) -
The University of South Dakota football team is ready to make a statement in their first year at the division one level and as new members of the Missouri Valley Conference.
As junior linebacker Tyler Starr put it, if the Yotes kick the door in they've got a good a chance as anybody to win on Saturday.
With kick-off a little more than two weeks away, the South Dakota football team practiced for two-hours under the sun in Vermillion, SD, before shedding the pads and stepping up to the microphone for media day.
With Starr and his teammates ready to hit the ground running, Head Coach Joe Glenn believes they're more than ready to do so.
"This team gives so much darned effort. They want it so bad," Glenn said. "They know we're stepping into a little bigger weight division and they're responding to it by working hard and I don't know any other way to do it."
South Dakota's season begins Sept. 1 against Montana.
