Wichita rallies past X's for 6-5 win in 11 innings

WICHITA, KS (KTIV) -- -

CJ Ziegler singled home Jake Kahaulelio as Wichita defeated Sioux City 6-5 in 11 innings Friday night at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.

Tied at one heading into the second inning, the X's took a 3-1 lead on Mike Murphy's two run double.

Sioux City struck for two more in the fifth inning on an RBI triple from Peter Barrows and single from Jorge Delgado to open up a 5-2 lead.

The Wingnuts plated a run in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings to tie the game up at five.

After sitting out of Sioux City's 4-1 victory over Rockland, Wally Backman Jr. pushed his hit streak to 15 games with a 2-for-4 performance. He also scored two runs.

Ray Serrano extended his hitting streak to 13 games with two hits as well, raising his average to .303.
