Sioux City ace Nick Schumacher suffered his worst outing of the season, giving up nine runs over four innings of work in an 11-3 loss to Wichita Saturday night.
With two outs and a 1-0 lead in the first, the Wingnuts strung together four consecutive doubles and added a single to score six runs.
Schumacher would settle down from there and allow a run in third and fifth innings before being lifted.
Yusuke Inoguchi clubbed his fourth home run of the season. Wally Backman Jr. kept his hitting streak alive going 1-for-3 with a single. He has hit safely in 16 straight games.
Ray Serrano was 3-for-3 and extended his hitting streak to 14 games.
Sioux City will try to avoid being swept Sunday, before returning home Tuesday for a three game series against Wichita.
