WORTHINGTON, Minn. (KTIV) -
After more than two decades of planning and construction, water started flowing through the system this summer, but federal funding for future construction has become uncertain amid budget cuts.
On Monday, Minnesota members of Congress put the pressure on the top official at the Bureau of Reclamation.
At a meeting in Worthington, they told Commissioner Michael Connor $35 million is needed each year over the next decade to finish the $462 million project.
Next year's proposed federal funding is just $4.5 million.
KTIV's Kristen Johnson covered this morning's event in Vermillion and will bring us much more tonight on News Four at Six.
