SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Chances are if you've flown out of Sioux Gateway Airport, you've noticed flights go through Chicago's O'Hare Airport.
Local leaders are again trying to give travelers more destination options.
The council plans to meet with the airport board next week to discuss expanding America Eagle's service.
Right now, the American Airlines subsidiary flies to Chicago twice a day. City leaders are interested in an additional route out west.
Sioux City just received another air service grant worth 28-thousand dollars.
Mayor Bob Scott said leaders want to know the cost of an extra route to the city.
"They have an interest and we have an interest, we just have to see if we can make a deal with them," Scott said.
American has expressed interest in expanding to their hub in Dallas, but say they won't make any decisions until the company climbs out of bankruptcy.
