NORFOLK, Neb. (AP) -
The man accused of shooting a Norfolk woman pled guilty to two charges.
Thirty-year-old Carlos Martinez pled guilty to first degree assault and a weapon charge.
Madison County attorney Joe Smith says Martinez shot Edna Gutierrez at her home in February.
Martinez was taken into custody after a standoff with police.
He faces 50 years in prison on each count and will be sentenced in October.
The attorney for Martinez claims the gun went off accidentally and will bring up that issue at sentencing.
