Politics on the menu at annual Labor Day picnic

Several Democratic candidates for local office are expected to appear at the annual Labor Day picnic put on for local union workers.

The Northwest Iowa Labor Council says it will feature the following speakers: Fourth Congressional District candidate Christie Vilsack, State Representative Chris Hall and State House Candidate David Dawson.

Woodbury County Supervisors Jackie Smith, Mark Monson and Larry Clausen, as well as County Auditor Pat Gill and Sheriff Doug Boetger will also make an appearance.

The picnic gets underway at noon Monday, at the Riverside Park Shelter.
