SHELDON, Iowa (KTIV) -
It's not something you'll see every day; toddlers racing other toddlers.
As part of Sheldon's Celebration Days, kids prepared to participate in three races: crawling, walking and sprinting.
The race is a chance for parents and children to get out and enjoy the season. Whatever these races bring them, the coaches are ready for anything.
"Fill him with Mountain Dew or candy," said Angela Lode, grandmother of David Lode, one of the sprinters.
"They all go down, together, and then it's just wait to see if he goes or just sits and looks around," said Kim Sneiderman, mother of Kade, one of the crawlers.
At the end of the race, the winners were given certificates and toys.
For those who couldn't quite capture first place in the crawling category, there's always next year.
By then, many could have worked their way up to the sprinting division.
