Northwestern quarterback Davis Bloemendaal is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week. He was also named the NAIA national offensive player of the week.
Bloemendaal, a junior from Orange City, Iowa, completed 20-32 passes for 336 yards and four touchdowns as 10th ranked Northwestern defeated Southwestern (KS) 49-0 to open the season on Thursday.
The 336 yards in the air is a new career high, while the four scores matches a career best. He had scoring passes of 53, 21, 11, and 34 yards in the game as Northwestern set a school record with 649 yards of total offense.
Northwestern (1-0, 0-0) will play at Morningside (1-0, 0-0) on September 8 in a 7pm kickoff at Olsen Stadium in Sioux City, Iowa.
