ELK POINT, SD (KTIV) -
Voters in Elk Point, South Dakota have approved spending close to $1-million on a new community center.
367 people or 61% of those who cast ballots voted in favor of the project.
235 ballots were cast against the measure for a total of 39-percent.
The vote only needed a simple majority to pass.
Voter turnout was 45-percent.
The proposal would build a new community center on the site of the Elk Point Country Club building.
