SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Four homes are evacuated Wednesday afternoon after a gas line is cut.

Authorities were called to 1517 23rd street shortly after 2 p.m.

Officials with MidAmerican Energy say a third party contractor hit a two inch gas line.

Company officials say two customers lost service, but four homes were evacuated as a precaution.

Crews hope to have the pipe repaired early Wednesday evening.
