OTO, Iowa (KTIV) -

No one was injured after a house fire in northwest Iowa Thursday morning. Firefighters say they were called to 305, Highway 31 around 8:15 a.m. to find smoke coming from a home. Firefighters got the flames under control quickly, and say no one was home when the fire started.

"We'll probably be on scene for quite a while, hitting the hot spots," Terry Swearingen, Acting Oto Fire Chief said.

Investigators think the fire might have started in a back bedroom on the main floor of the house. Firefighters say the house has a lot of smoke and water damage. The Fire Marshal will be on scene to try to determine a cause. The Red Cross is also helping the family.
