NORFOLK, Neb. (US92) -
Was that a real convoy that came through Norfolk, Nebraska today? That's a big 10-4! And, it was all for a great cause!
It was the first time a semi truck convoy had ever been organized in Norfolk.
It included more than 50 semis and their passengers.
The truckers lined up their rigs near the Norfolk Regional Airport where they spent about an hour polishing the chrome for the cruise through town.
The convoy then embarked on a police-escorted six mile trek through Norfolk.
As the air horns sounded and the jake brakes rumbled, people young and old were standing on the side of the roadway cheering them on.
The trucks then headed to the Off-Road Ranch south of Norfolk for a Show and Shine.
Proceeds from the truck drivers' registration fees will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to help fund pediatric cancer research.
