YANKTON, S.D. (KTIV) -
You don't have to worry about the price at the pump, if you're headed down Yankton, South Dakota's Meridian Bridge.
It was shut down to traffic in 2008 and re-opened as a pedestrian and bicycle path.
More work has been done recently.
The Yankton Parks and Recreation Department said they've added irrigation to grow grass near the entrance, and, installed benches to the top and bottom level.
"Until you're out on the bridge, looking down the river and you can see both sides, it's just a completely different view," Todd Larson with Yankton Parks and Recreation, said.
Larson also said, the city has plans to discuss how they can continue developing the areas around the bridge.
