SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

It's a step back in time, to an era of chivalry and jousting and it's coming to Sioux City.

The 9th gathering of the Kingdom of Riverssance will be held at Riverside Park the first weekend in October.

New this year, The Rogues, a Celtic band will be performing along with 100's of costumed entertainers.

They are dressed up as all types of Renaissance characters.

Organizers say this is a family, fun event that is perfect for all ages.

"I sit with my eyes closed, in a secluded place out there two or three times a day and I listen. That's what I look forward to because the sounds, the smells, the laughter. It's a very joyful place," Phil Claeys, a Kingdom of Riverssance Organizer said.

The 9th Annual Riverssance Festival is October 6th and 7th at Riverside Park.

Adults are $10, ages 6 to 12 are $5 and kids five and under are free.
