A 12-year-old Doon, Iowa, boy is hurt after being hit by a pickup truck while riding a dirt bike.
Authorities say it happened on Dove Avenue near Alvord, Iowa on Saturday afternoon.
Investigators say Michael Fluit turned in front of the truck driven by 42-year-old Daniel Van Ginkel of Alvord. Both vehicles landed in the ditch, but the pickup was on top of Fluit trapping him. Authorities used a tractor to lift the truck off the boy.
The Lyon County Sheriff's department says Fluit was taken to the hospital in Rock Valley with incapacitating injuries.
