The Sioux City Musketeers battle Sioux Falls Tuesday in Sioux Center.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
The Sioux City Musketeers are set to embark on their 41st season as a franchise. But to prep for the year, the Muskies have four exhibition games including Tuesday night in Sioux Center against Sioux Falls.
The Muskies ended the 2011 campaign with a head full of steam heading into this year.
After a rough first half, Sioux City turned things up winning 19 games and advanced to the Clark Cup Playoffs for the second year in a row.
They return 11 players from last season's 29 win squad.
"We got the right mix. It took a little while to do that, but we found it. And, we think we've got a good portion of that mix right now at the beginning of the season," Head Coach Brett Larson said. "We're excited about the new guys we brought in. We're excited about the leadership, the returners. Guys like David Goodwin and Michael Holland. Guys, that have been around the league a long time."
"You know we're really looking to just keep that momentum going from last year and just looking to build," Goodwin added. "We're all about building game by game. And, hopefully we can have a good run this year."
The puck drops at the All Seasons Center in Sioux Center at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $13 the day of the game.
