Posted:
WASHINGTON, D.C (KTIV) -

Two organizations will get federal money to train workers to be safer on the job.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA, awarded $171,000 to the Agrisafe Network in Spencer, Iowa... and another $139,900 to the Western Iowa Tech Community College Foundation in Sioux City.

Agrisafe will use the money to provide training for small pork producers and grain processors on personal protective equipment related to chemical exposure, and manure pit safety.

WIT will pay for injury and illness prevention training for small businesses in the telecommunication tower and wind energy sectors.
