Beef Products, Incorporated is going after ABC News. The Dakota Dunes based company announced Thursday it has filed a $1.2 billion defamation lawsuit against the network for what it calls a "smear campaign" to discredit their product lean, finely textured beef. The lawsuit seeks damages under South Dakota's defamation law, as well as a 1994 state law that allows businesses to sue anyone who knowingly spreads false information about a food product. ABC News issued a statement saying the lawsuit is without merit and they will fight it vigorously.
Two months have passed since anyone has seen two young cousins, 10-year-old Lyric Cook and 9-year-old Elizabeth Collins. A vigil Thursday night marked the anniversary of their disappearance. The cousins were last seen riding their bikes on July 13th at Meyers Lake near Evansdale. FBI officials have said they believe the girls were abducted.
When you think of airplanes, the first name that comes to mind probably isn't Henry Ford. But a three-motored aircraft was first built in the 1920's by the car company. And now, it's in Sioux City at the Mid America Air and Transportation Museum. You can ride in the plane starting Friday until Sunday from 9 to 5 at the museum.
