A youth organization, that has warned kids not to draw and paint on other people's property, is now inviting them to do the opposite tomorrow.
"Big 12" is an after school program aimed at helping kids stay out of trouble. It is starting a mural project to cover its recreational center in Cook Park.
The project was designed to prevent graffiti on their building, and to motivate kids to be active.
"What were trying to do is basically put something up, that people could see, that we're doing something positive with it, it's not just a building," Manuel Anguiano, a member with Big 12 Youth.
The mural will show kids playing different sports, including boxing and skateboarding. Paint and brushes will be donated by the Sioux City Police Department.
Sergeant Michael Manthorne actually helped with drawing some sketches for the building.
Volunteers and youths in the program will start painting at 9 AM tomorrow.
Anyone interested in helping paint, is invited to come out.
