Former Heelan High School president passes away

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Funeral plans set for a former president of Bishop Heelan High School.

Father Al McCoy passed away on Thursday after being readmitted to the hospital.

Father McCoy served as President of Bishop Heelan High School from 1996 to 1998. He served in the high school's administration from 1998 to 2002. He also served as the chaplain at Briar Cliff University from 1998 until he retired.

A vigil service is set for Tuesday, September 18th, at 7:00 pm at the Cathedral of the Epiphany. His funeral mass will follow, at Cathedral, on Wednesday, September 19th, at 10:00 am.
