SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
An affordable housing project on the city's near northside won't move forward, because of a lack of funding.
A half-dozen row houses were supposed to give people with lower incomes the opportunity to become first-time home buyers.
The project was supported by a federal grant, but the developer was unable to come up with the rest of the financing to finish the work.
The project got as far as the design phase.
Remaining federal funds will be used to acquire several foreclosed properties around midtown... and turn them into green space.
