The murder trial of James Kroll has been pushed to early next year.

Kroll is the Sioux City man accused of bludgeoning two people with a crowbar as they slept. He's charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder and first-degree burglary.

Sioux City Police say that on June 13th, he broke into the northside home of Mary Tope and attacked her and her boyfriend, 54-year-old Jeffrey Moravec, while they slept.

Moravec died of his injuries. Tope was severely injured. Kroll was scheduled to go to trial Nov. 13th. That's now been delayed until Jan. 29th in Woodbury County District Court.
