WYOMISSING, Pa (KTIV) -
Argosy Casino's parent company is again asking a court to make a decision in its breach of contract suit against Missouri River Historical Development.
MRHD sued Penn National in January claiming it had the right to "shop around" for an operator that would best deliver the type of land-based casino it envisioned for the city.
Penn counter-sued, accusing the non-profit of breach of contract.
Penn spokeperson Eric Shippers says MRHD ignored the contract's existence during the last Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission hearing. Penn claims that was the basis for the IRGC's action to begin a process of revoking the casino company's gambling license and take other license applications.
Penn is asking the court to affirm their contract with MRHD, and says not doing so will put their business and local job security in jeopardy.
Shippers says Argosy has, "lost the ability to retain key employees as a result of the unstable environment created by MRHD's actions."
Three-hundred people are employed at the riverboat casino, according to the company.
