Man suspected in fatal beating pleads not guilty to charges

SPENCER, Iowa (KTIV) -

A Spencer, Iowa man says he's "not guilty" of a fatal beating, last month.

21-year-old Christopher Fitzpatrick faces charges of 1st-degree murder, willful injury and 1st-degree burglary.

Authorities found the victim, 59-year old Edward Kitto beaten and unresponsive in the backyard of a home in the 500 block of East 3rd Street back on August 27th after a burglary.

Kitto died at a Sioux Falls hospital.

Fitzpatrick's trial is set to start for December 11th.
