Morningside quarterback Joel Nixon is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week.
Nixon, a senior from Wakefield, Nebraska, led fourth ranked Morningside to a 42-0 win against Midland University. Nixon competed an outstanding 20 of 28 passes for 344 yards and two touchdowns.
He also rushed for 112 yards and one touchdown on 13 attempts. Nixon accounted for a season high 456 yards of total offense.
Nixon for the season has thrown 12 touchdown passes and just one interception in four games season. Morningside is idle this week.

Northwestern defensive lineman Jordan Carlson is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Carlson, a senior, from Storm Lake, Iowa, helped lead 16th ranked Northwestern to a 47-12 win over Dakota State University.
Carlson played a key role in shutting down Dakota State's offense. He accounted for six solo tackles and assisted in five tackles, totaling 8.5 tackles. The returning All-American also had three of the Red Raiders seven sacks.
To add on to the already impressive game, Carlson forced a fumble and led the Red Raider Defense to limiting the Dakota State offense to just 255 yards.
Northwestern College will take on Nebraska Wesleyan University this Saturday, September 29, in Lincoln at 1 pm.
